Launching the Rwandan TYPO3 Community

This day the first African TYPO3 community was launched through a public event, gathering many interested developers from Rwanda. Arxia's CEO moderated the event and supported the Rwandan group to prepare this first meetup. We will continue to give them a helping hand and we hope to see them thrive.

2nd Workshop on Electronic Invoicing in Romania

We are "all in" to help Romania implement the European regulations and gain the benefits from adopting the electronic invoice in public procurement and maybe further in the B2B relations. Our CEO has facilitated the 2nd e-Invoicing workshop in Romania, organized by the Cluj IT Cluster, with the participation of the European Commission and the CIO Office of the government of Romania. We hope to have made an important step forward.
TYPO3 "Personality of the year" award for our CEO

Our CEO Daniel Homorodean was awarded the title of "Personality of the year" by the TYPO3 Association during the TYPO3 Awards ceremony organized as part of the TYPO3 Conference 2019. The jury appreciated Daniel's efforts to promote TYPO3 in the Eastern Europe and in Africa, resulting in the establishment of the T3EE conference in Cluj since 2013 and the expansion of TYPO3 in Rwanda.

We believe that large opportunities lie in the digitalization process of the African countries and the Romanian IT companies should be present in the region. Our CEO has organized an economic mission that took the Romanian IT delegation through Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, in a very dense meeting schedule with the governmental instutitions, universities, local IT companies and the technical communities. We are looking forward to expand our actions in the region in the future.

Part of a post-conflict reconstruction program organized by RoAid, our CEO discussed with repreentatives of many African countries about the roadmap for national digitalization, the importance of building national IT capacity and the Information Infrastructure as a top strategic priority, including the proper collection, storage, transportation, protection, processing and distribution of data.

The 2nd edition of our conference was organized by us at Cluj Arena, gathering public procurement practitioners from all Romania, with a set of great speakers like Milica Ecaterina Dobrota, Marius Vasiliu, Bogdan Dobrin, Octavian Constantinescu, Marius Sorin Danga, Valeria Tudora, Irina Forgo. It was a great full day, ended with a proper socializing event. Our colleague Florin Popovici moderated the conference and presented the advantages of digitalizing the public procurement processes using ProcessPlayer.

On the podium at Open Banking Hackathon

The Arxia team composed by Horea Negru and Daniel Homorodean were rewarded the 3rd prise at the Demo Night Open Banking Hackathon, where they showcased the vision of our new project e-Factura and how the open banking interaction allows easy payment processing and account checking in relation with the sent and received invoices. This is just the beginning for a great journey to come.
Moderating at SEEDIG 5

The South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG 5) conference was a great opportunity for dialogue on very hot topics of our times. Our CEO Daniel Homorodean was part of the program committee of SEEDIG and has moderated the panel on "Digital businesses: trends, challenges and regulations". It was a great event and we look forward to participate to its future editions.
PlanningWiz at the first Proptech Hackathon in Romania

Our PlanningWiz team participated at the first ever hackathon organized in Romania in the Proptech domain. We presented the vision of a platform that will make the collaboration between tenants and property managers much more efficient, using interactive floor plans to manage maintenance and repair operations.
First Workshop on Electronic Invoicing in Romania

Our CEO facilitated the first workshop on the adoption of electronic invoicing in Romania, an event organized by Cluj IT Cluster, with the participation of the representatives of the European Commission, topcentral institutions of Romania and the IT industry. We believe that eInvoicing will be a game changer for all of us once it will gain proper B2G and B2B traction. eInvoicing stands for the complete dematerialization of the invoice, passing through between the seller and buyer as an automatically processable data stream. Arxia is firmly supporting this process.
PlanningWiz and ProcessPlayer at the Startup Europe Summit

Our products PlanningWiz and ProcessPlayer were selected to participate at the larger startup event organized by the European Commission this year. PlanningWiz had its own stand and participated in the pitching competition. We also gave a presentation about the ProcessPlayer journey in becoming a key tool for public procurement processes in many Romanian institutions and in taking it abroad in new markets.
"Public Procurement Expert" Facebook Group
We believe in communities, we believe in sharing, we believe in contributing. Sensing the need of public procurement practitioners to share knowledge and practical advices, our colleague Florin Popovici created and nurtures the "Public Procurement Expert" group on Facebook, the place where the Romanian specialists give and receive help. The group has passed now the 8,000 members mark and is by far the largest and most relevant social media place for Romanian domain experts. ProcessPlayer at the "Enhancing the Legal Protection for EU Financial Interests in Romania" Conference

We believe that the integrity, accountability, waste reduction and correct regulation applicance in public procurement is greatly enhanced by the proper digital support of the procurement planning and execution. In fact, we claim that we could gratly reduce corruption from its planning phase, if tools like ProcessPlayer would be adopted by the institutions. In a national conference dedicated to fraud prevention in EU-financed projects, our colleague Florin Popovici detailed how this can be achieved, in his presentation "Optimizing and minimizing fraud risks in public procurement through digitalization"
"Smart Cities of Romania" Conference

The conference provided a good opportunity to showcase our platform for public procurement, a great tool for any public administration which aspires to be smart. Our colleague Alin Fleșer has delivered a presentation that incited much interest from the audience, "ProcessPlayer - End-to-End Procurement Management".
Judging the best design for the Rwandan gov.rw portal

Our colleague Alina Fleșer-Miclăuș was invited to be part of the jury, along with managers from central institutions and from GIZ, for the design hackathon whose winner will have the chance to work on the planner new governmental portal of Rwanda. This was the final stage of a one-week engagement with the programmers at the Rwandan Information Society Authority which learned from Alina the advantages and specifics of TYPO3 CMS.

After years of fostering the Public Procurement Expert community, it was time to organize an event where we can meet and interact dirrectly. It was a great day of debate and sharing, with renowed field experts - Milica Ecaterina Dobrotă,Octavian Constantinescu, Jenica Ioan, Florin Irimia, Valeria Tudora, Bogdan Costaș. Our colleague Florin Popovici moderated the event and presented how the public institutions can become more efficient by digitalizing the public procurement processes using ProcessPlayer
Once more T3EE proven to be the place to be for everyone, from East and West. For our attendees from Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia it was their first TYPO3 event. Our colleagues delivered two presentation - Alina Fleșer talked about the flexibility of TYPO3 extensions and Daniel Homorodean shared a vision about the future of our work and our organizations in the digital revolution that we are now part of.
CMS Africa Summit 2018
( 16-17th March 2018, Kigali, Rwanda)
Representing the TYPO3 Association, our CEO has participated at the largest African CMS conference and promoted the TYPO3 CMS. The presentation was very well received and raised the interest of many participants, including the representatives of Rwandan national informatization authority. The premises for bringing TYPO3 to Africa were thus set.

Efficient public procurement with digital support - Intensive trainings in Sălaj county

Electronic public procurement is not only promoted by the European Commission but it is also bringing efficiency, control, traceability and lower the risks. Our colleague Florin Popovici has trained more than 200 representatives of the public institutions from the Sălaj county in how to become more efficient by employing digital support for the planning and execution of the procurement processes.
This T3EE edition was very playful - our team prepared well the social games that kept everyone engaged during the sessions, the breaks and of course the main party. Our colleague Daniel Homorodean presented tips & tricks for the commercialization of SaaS products and how to transform tensed moments between people into opportunities through "Crucial Conversations".

The "TYPO3 University Day" opened this edition of T3EE, with almost 30 representatives of the academic institutions from 5 countries. The next 2 days were packed with presentation and quality community time. Highlights included the presentation of TYPO3 7 LTS, the Mark extension, the t3kit and the agile approach of development projects
First TYPO3 Code Sprint in Romania
A dream came true - we hosted the first TYPO3 Code Sprint in Romania, with the participation of a great team dedicated to making TYPO3 even better, people from Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and of course Romania. We had a great time together and done a lot of fixes that got committed to the TYPO3 core.

This year T3EE was preceded by a day of "TYPO3 Marathon", when our team and our guests run arround the town presenting TYPO3 in various locations. It was the "edition of the colors", from t-shirts to drinks and to badges. Our colleagues held two presentations: Emil Mercea showcased the technical mastering of 3D planning in the browser with WebGL showcasing our PlanningWiz floor planner and Daniel Homorodean presented "A3 Thinking", a logical and structured approach to problem solving adopted by Lean organizations around the world.

The "Internet & Mobile World" trade fair provided a great opportunity for our team to present our fresh products PlanningWiz and ProcessPlayer. Being exhibitor in a trade fair was a new experience for us, an exciting one which we look forward to repeat.
TYPO3 Rookies 2nd edition
We love to help the young programmers to do the first steps with TYPO3! In the TYPO3 Rookies program of 2015, Arxia has hosted 4 juniors from Germany for one week, provided mentorship through our colleague Alina Fleșer and helped them to discover our nice city of Cluj.
TYPO3 Code Sprint FAL
We take any opportunity to contribute at TYPO3! Our colleague Alina Fleșer went to Essen to give a helping hand to the development of FAL.
Over 100 TYPO3 community members gathered from all Europe. The Romanian presence was strong but the response from the West, especially Germany and the Netherlands, was amazing! The future of the TYPO3 project was in high debate, with Neos - the promissing child of the day, keeping everyone excited. A great first edition of T3EE, establishing the strong tradition that carries on.

For the 3rd year, Arxia brings together the TYPO3 developers from Romania in a 1-day meetup filled with interesting presentations. It was at this meetup that the 30+ participants decided to make it bigger next year, to make it international, and such the TYPO3 East Europe has been born!
